Taking the Floor at Floore's Country Store

Updated: Jul 27, 2021

Located in Helotes, TX, John T. Floore's Country Store opened back in 1942. Since then, countless artists have taken the stage, and endless boots have broken in the dancefloor.

Although it originally began as a grocery store, it decided to jump on the dancehall bandwagon and soon became a popular place to visit. Floore's is especially famous because it was home to the renowned Willie Nelson when he first began his career.

The place is full of quirky knick-knacks, signed posters, and silly quotes. Boots and hats hang from the ceiling and there are stickers all over the stage door.

Every Saturday night you can enjoy live music at Floore's and every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month is a free afternoon dance.

This past Saturday, Sunny Sweeney took the stage. She shared her stories and inspirations for her music and had the crowd cheering and singing along.

My friends and I went dancing and at first, nobody would go out on the floor. So, we made the first move and soon the floor filled up.

If you are looking to go out dancing, or just enjoy some good music, Floore's is the place to go.

So, go for the experience, stay for the dancing, and never be afraid to dillydally!
