Just a plane ride from Texas and a short drive outside of San Fransisco is a town in California called Carmel-by-the-Sea. This quaint little town has a beautiful view of the ocean, colorful buildings, and a lovely little history.
When we first got to town, there was a really quaint farmers market with local flowers, produce, honey, and caramel. We got to taste some of the caramel and picked up some flowers. There was also live music!
The town is full of stores with artisan goods. There are a lot of galleries and each building is unique. There are plenty of papers and little pamphlets throughout the city which highlight the city's history and points of interest. I highly suggest you pick up one of their walking tour brochures and go see the historical sights in the town. We grabbed some coffee and walked through the town to see some of the sights.
After walking around the city, we went down to the beach to have a little picnic with cannolis! The sun was going down so the water was glistening and there were a lot of people walking their dogs!
We watched the sunset and got to see some of the locals surfing. It was absolutely beautiful.
We then got dinner from one of the local restaurants and headed out of town.
So, go for the experience, stay for the sunset, and never forget to dillydally!
