Singing Water Vineyards offers for their wine club members to help them pick their grapes every once in a while. We were lucky enough to be chosen to help pick last summer!
Bright and early on a Saturday morning my mom and I got up and headed out I-10 to Singing Water Vineyards. We picked up our clippers and buckets and started snipping. We spent most of the morning filling up bucket after bucket.
After we filled our buckets, we took them down to the giant bin at the end of each row, and they were picked up, put on their truck, and driven to the processing building.
We also got to say hi to the famous Louis the Llama before heading out. (They have a blended wine drink named after him.)

Singing Water provided us with breakfast to reward the pickers for their hard work.
The little kid that was helping said it best, "you know, this was fun at first, but I'm kinda ready for my donut now." And that's exactly what we got.
So, go for the experience, stay for the grapes, and never be afraid to dillydally!
