I recently went to Broken Bow, OK. You may be wondering, "why on earth Broken Bow?" I gotta be honest with you, I was wondering the same thing when my friends suggested it. I was also surprised by how many people were also visiting Broken Bow this past weekend. However, I soon saw the beauty in it.
Just three short hours outside of Dallas, TX, the beauty of Broken Bow lies in the middle of what feels like nowhere. Where we stayed was actually a bit outside of Broken Bow in a town called Hochatown. The stretch between Broken Bow and Hochatown is surprisingly full of tourist attractions. Most of them involve Sasquatch in some way.
We stayed in a really nice cabin, complete with a pool table, shuffleboard, fuse ball, jacuzzi, grill, and fire pit. One of the best parts of this trip was getting to cook with everyone and make smores in the evenings.
On Saturday, we went to Beavers Bend State Park and hiked the Friends Trail. It was a beautiful park and at one point we took a little dip in the river and swam in some of the rapids. It was a really hot day and it was a refreshing cool off, to say the least.
We closed out the day by cooking some dinner and hanging out by the fire. Although it was just a day and a half in Broken Bow, it was great getting to catch up with everyone and relax for a bit.
One of my friends also brought a drone and we got to take a group pic in front of the cabin before everyone headed out.
So, go for the experience, stay for Sasquatch, and never forget to dillydally!
